Meet the founder

I’m Sheila, the heart behind Bright Minds. I have raised autistic children, so I know first-hand how much children can grow when their environment is adjusted to suit their needs — and how often families are left to piece that together alone.
I’ve completed a Master’s in Autism Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies. My training covers communication and sensory differences, neuro-affirming practice, and a clearer understanding of the systems families are asked to navigate.
What I can offer today is warm, practical support, shared understanding and help finding the right information — offered carefully, within clear boundaries.
- Master’s & Graduate Certificate in Autism Studies
- Neuro-affirming and strengths-based in everything I share
- Walking beside neurodiverse families with warmth and honesty
What guides me
Neuro-affirming
Autistic ways of being are differences to understand and support, not problems to correct.
Compassionate
No judgement about hard days, unfinished paperwork or the parts nobody talks about.
Practical
Small, doable next steps that fit real family life, energy levels and budgets.
Strengths-based
Starting from what your child and your family already do well, and building gently from there.
Looking ahead
One day, I hope to help create an inclusive learning space — somewhere sensory needs are planned for rather than accommodated as an afterthought, where communication comes in many forms, and where autistic children are known for their strengths.
That vision is still ahead of me, and I’m sharing it as a hope rather than a promise. For now, I’m building toward it one family at a time — listening, and walking beside other families.
